Reason for Prayer: Joe recently learned that he has prostate cancer. Then, after a pelvic scan came back absolutely "clean", a bone scan revealed that he also has secondary bone cancer. Primary bone cancer originates in the bone; secondary cancer begins somewhere else and spreads. Both are very serious, but secondary is easier to put into remission. Right now he is undergoing external beam radiation treatment five days a week for five weeks and is fortunate to live within minutes of one of the two top radiation oncology centers in Florida. He takes a pill once a day to fight the cancer cells and gets an I-V injection once a month to keep his bones strong. He also began hormone shots which he'll get every three months for as long as they are effective. The hormone eliminates the testosterone that feeds cancer cells. Unfortunately, cancer cells are "smart" cells and the hormone shots will eventually have no effect on them. Then Plan B will go into effect: more radiation and/or chemotherapy. Please pray that Joe will keep up his good spirits and not lose faith.

Here is my Prayer: Lord, I lift my daughter Elizabeth up to you. She is working on her Masters Degree in Rehabilitative Counseling with an emphasis in pediatric brain injuries and disabilities. She is in a city and part of the country where she has never been before. She does not know anyone. Money is extremely tight. Lord, give her renewed energy to make it through the program and work. Provide better job opportunities for her while she is in school. She is my emotional child. Lord, hold her in the palm of your hands and guide and comfort her and be with her. She is homesick and misses her friends. With the holidays coming up she is really struggling. Please, Please lift her up in prayer.

Reason for Prayer: Carl recently went to the doctors, he is having problems with his Liver. They are going to be doing a Liver Biopsy on the 6th of Sept. and an endoscopy on the 17th of Sept. that God will forgive me for not being able to attend Mass because I have
not been feeling well, off and on with the flu bug. I also pray that
my Dad will realize that I have not given up on attending Mass, it's just

exposed to what they have. I hope and pray that my Dad will be able to
realize that. I love him dearly with all my heart and I will always
